Chandar is originally from Sabeto village in Nadi, Fiji. He is married to Rajnish and they have two children daughter Nalisha and son Krishant.
He completed primary and secondary studies in Fiji before completing his Bachelor of Engineering degree with First Class Honours from Auckland University. His post graduate studies include an Executive Master in Business Administration from the Auckland University, where he was recognised on the Dean’s list for excellence in academic performance.
Chandar is a Chartered member of Engineering New Zealand as well as a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand and Samoa. He is also registered on the International Professional Engineers and APEC registers. In New Zealand he is also a practice area assessor for registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand.
Chandar’s career of nearly 40 years has seen him employed in Fiji by the Fiji Sugar Corporation and Fiji Electricity Authority. Since moving to New Zealand, he worked for a lengthy spell at Robt Stone & Co Ltd and a short stint with Tenix Ltd. In 2010, he started Pacific Engineering Projects Ltd (PEP), a New Zealand head quartered design and build engineering company working across the Pacific including Fiji. PEP works in the water, wastewater, power generation & distribution, petrochemical and food processing sectors.
Chandar is currently Managing Director of PEP and a director of other private companies in New Zealand and the Pacific. He is the current President of the New Zealand Fiji Business Council.

Kevin Malpas (Director) - Kevin started in engineering as an apprentice marine fitter for the RNZN before expanding his knowledge in boiler’s, refrigeration and automation at various facilities in the Waikato. Most of Kevin’s working life has been as a self-employed contractor working on factory maintenance, refrigeration and boiler maintenance. Kevin sub-contracted as a service fitter working on steam turbines at Huntly Power station and a geothermal turbine at Ohaaki.
An opportunity to work for New Zealand’s biggest boiler manufacturer became available, which then lead to Kevin becoming a commissioning engineer at CHH Kinleith for Rolls Royce. He worked for Rolls Royce Industrial power on the 130MW wood waster boiler and 40MW steam turbine. Kevin spent four years employed by Rolls Royce New Zealand as a service and commissioning engineer before starting up Advance Boiler Services (NZ) Ltd. He now has over 30 years’ experience in various engineering, design, testing and commissioning services.
Kevin has a strong focus on developing his business, and to that end, recently completed a course for owner/operators with Icehouse. Kevin is now a part owner for an electrical business that maintains and services the timber industry in New Zealand and partnered with an overseas Biomass boiler supplier.

Operations / Contracts Manager
Mark Plant is the Operations/Contracts Manager at Fletcher Construction South Pacific, where Mark overseas the delivery of all projects across Polynesia and Melanesia within the Fletcher portfolio, which includes all operations within Fiji.
Mark gained a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree from Oxford Brookes University and proceeded to work within the UK industry before moving to New Zealand in 2010. Mark has worked on a number of significant projects for various internationally recognised companies throughout his career with Kvaerner, Skanska, Laing O’Rourke and Fletcher Construction.
Mark is a member of Engineering New Zealand and has been a continuous member of the New Zealand Fiji Business Council since 2017.

Matt is the founder and managing director of Freeman Media – a provider of information services to the New Zealand business community since 2002. These services include online publications, events, research services and infomaps.
Its publications and events currently serve the energy, mining, quarrying, contracting and legal sectors in New Zealand. It has previously covered the telecommunications sector. The company currently employs around 20 full-time staff.

Terence Is the former President of the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand.
He was the founder of Ode Record Company limited, 1968, Terence as an Independent Producer, Engineer and Photographer was actively Involved in New Zealand and the South Pacific in establishing a catalogue of recorded music.
As the Head of RIANZ., which also has a mandate from its members to collect and protect its member’s repertoire, in accordance with their Intellectual Property rights, covered in Law by the New Zealand Copyright Act.
As an expert in the field, he also became Chairman of the Copyright Council of New Zealand, this led Terence to assist in setting up, of the 1999 Copyright Act of Fiji, in cooperation with Florence Fenton and the Fiji Law Commission.
Working then to protect the rights of the members of RIANZ., he began to assist in the fight against Piracy in New Zealand and the South Pacific.
